This week we started our data collection with our research participants. The children met Hazel the hedgehog and we had the wonderful privilege of listening to all their ideas and stories about Nature. Hazel brought her magic Nature bag that you can see in the photograph which had some items (pine-cone, horse-chestnut, shell, stone, ladybird, butterfly, spider, leaf, twig, bird and a worm (photos!)), which were used as provocations for the children's own story-telling ! After we got to hear lots of stories, we brought the bag outside to add more of the children's own items of interest and a large basket of pine-cones and horse-chestnuts to explore with. It was a super fun first day and Hazel and I learned so much ! We shall be adding some new material into our resource folders that were inspired by the children's ideas.
